We host regular free events for those looking to better understand their financial options when they retire. The events are different to the courses held by the MPS at Empress State Building that you may have attended.

Who should attend

Events are aimed at Officers with less than five years to retirement. Spouses and partners are also welcome.

If you’re Met Police Staff, we offer dedicated events.

What you’ll learn

The events are packed with important financial information for those with big financial decisions to make. The agenda covers:

• The Police Pension Scheme (including opting out, lump sum commutations and tax implications)
• Savings and investments
• Wills, trusts and estate planning

Who you’ll hear from

On the day, you’ll be guided through a presentation written in conjunction with the Federation’s Police Pensions Scheme expert. Speakers will include retired Police Officers and representatives from a team of solicitors.

The events are relaxed and informal, usually running for 4 hours with a 30 minute break.
