How we support the Police Family

We’re part of the Police Family, so everything Metfriendly does has the Police Family at the very heart.

We’re with you from day one of your Police journey at passing out parade, through to long service awards, and then helping you with the financial considerations around your Police retirement at one of our Options seminars and supporting you beyond retirement into a new career and beyond.

We started out as the Metropolitan Police Provident Association, formed back in 1893 by volunteers working within the Met to support widows of colleagues and retiring Officers.

Since then, as well as working to provide support to those who have worked in the Police Service and their families become more financially secure, our capacity as an organisation also enables us to sponsor and support Police linked events and organisations that you care about in both practical and financial terms. Organisations we support include:

‘I’ve used Metfriendly for the last 5 years and recently the money has gone towards a deposit for our house. I will be signing back up next year to help save towards my kids future.’
